RYA Powerboat Instructor (Including Pre-Assessment)
RYA Powerboat Instructor (Including Pre-Assessment)
The 4 day RYA Pre-Assessment and Powerboat Instructor course trains you in the various teaching methods required to instruct the RYA Powerboat Level 1 and 2 syllabus and is run by an RYA Powerboat Trainer. All students will run a number of sessions to develop personal skills and teaching ability. In terms of the theory areas and background knowledge, your level of understanding must be above the level you will teach at so that you can confidently deliver sessions and take questions from students beyond the level of the syllabus. We would recommend that being at the level of RYA Day Skipper Theory is perfect whilst being at the level of RYA Basic Safety & Navigation should prove acceptable. The course prerequisites are a minimum of 1 season’s full time or 2 seasons’ part-time powerboat experience with RYA Powerboat Level 2, and a valid First Aid certificate.
