The 1 day RYA Powerboat Skills Assessment must have been passed by all RYA Powerboat Instructor candidates prior to taking the RYA Powerboat Instructor course. You must hold RYA Powerboat Level 2 and have powerboat driving experience for a minimum of 1 year full time or 2 years part time. In terms of driving you must ensure your Powerboat skills are up to a level where you can confidently perform any manoeuvres from the RYA Powerboat Level 1 and 2 syllabus in tidal conditions. It is strongly recommended you practice all manoeuvres before coming on the Pre Assessment.
